Fatal Hit-and-Run on I-69 Under Investigation; Police Seek Dashcam Footage

Indiana State Police

Indiana State Troopers are investigating a fatal hit and run crash that occurred last night on I-69 in Fishers. Dispatchers began receiving emergency calls around 9:45 p.m. August 18. Callers were reporting what appeared to be a deceased body in front of a van on the right shoulder of I-69 northbound just south of exit 210.

When first responders arrived they found the remains of an adult male. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene. He was later identified as 36 year old Gregory S. Christopher II of Parker City Indiana.

Preliminary investigation has determined Mr. Christopher had a flat tire on his van, it appears he was struck by a northbound vehicle while outside his van working on the tire. The vehicle that struck Mr. Scott did not remain on the scene. Investigators have been following leads throughout the day and continue to search for the person responsible.

Detectives are asking for anyone who may have seen the crash, or has information about the incident to contact ISP. Detectives believe the Mr. Christopher may have been stopped on the side of I-69 for nearly 45 minutes before 911 calls began coming in. Anyone who was driving on I-69 northbound or southbound in the area of the 209 mile marker (just south of exit 210) August 18 between 8:45 and 9:45 p.m. and has a vehicle equipped with dash cameras, please preserve the footage and contact police. Even if the person did not witness the actual crash or the suspect vehicle, their video could hold valuable information for the investigation.
