The Frankfort City Council approved the 2023 budget for the city at Monday night’s meeting.
Mayor Judy Sheets said she has been working on the budget since about April and May. She added the total for everything that they are sending to the state is $17,689.758, including $13.7 million for city general.
In other news, the Board of Works approved an asphalt reconstruction bid of $174,640 from Crenshaw Paving for work on the tennis courts at TPA Park. Demolition of the courts is expected to be done by November 7. The majority of the renovation of the courts is expected to begin next year.
Also, the BOW approved making Doyal Street a two-way street effective immediately. This is a similar move to what the city did earlier this year with Taylor Street.
