Glenn Dave “Dadaw” Parker, 72, of Kirklin passed away on August 19, 2026 at his home surrounded by family.  He was born in Harlan, Kentucky on March 4, 1954 to William O. Bradley and Dulcy Katherine (Robbins) Parker.  David married Wanetta Lonette Shuler on August 1, 1992 at Bakers Corner Church in Sheridan, Indiana, and she survives.

Dave attended school in Harlan, Kentucky before being employed at TRW Casting and Firestone in Noblesville, Indiana.  He later owned and operated Parker Body Shop in Sheridan with his brothers.  Dave enjoyed fishing and hunting and loved the outdoors.  He often trained horses and hunting dogs and he became known as “The Beagle Man” in Indiana.  Dave delighted in spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially watching them play sports.  For the past few years, he enjoyed having his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren visit and having family cookouts.  In 1990, Dave traveled to Nashville to record songs he had written.  He was offered the opportunity to be the opening act for Kenny Rogers, but he turned it down.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Paradigm Hospice, especially to Shirley and Anissa.  Also, a special thank you to his granddaughter, Erica Newhart, who made sure he was comfortable prior to passing by giving him the appropriate medications.

Surviving are: his wife, Lonette; sons: Jason (DeAnn) Berry of Frankfort, Joshua (Kristie) Parker of Arizona; brothers: Wilbur (Barbara) Parker of Kokomo, and Willis Parker of Kokomo; a sister: Casey Darlene “Kitten” (Jeff) Lautner of Michigan; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents: William and Dulcy; brothers: Marvin Parker and Danny Parker; and three sisters: Mary Sue Orchett, Ann Hughes, and Laura May McElroy.

In accordance with Dave’s wishes, there will be a private family service held.  Burial will be at Green Lawn Cemetery at a later time.  Goodwin Funeral Home and the Clinton County Crematory are honored to assist the Parker family.  Memorials may be made to Paradigm Hospice, 8904 Bash St, Suite B, Indianapolis, IN 46256.  Please visit goodwinfuneralhome.com where you may share a condolence with the family.
