Clinton Prairie baseball player Kye Jacobs was named to the 2026 North All-Star team.
The team, consisting of 26 players, is reserved for the top baseball players in the northern half of Indiana and will play the South All-Stars at Loeb Stadium on June 27-28.
“Kye Jacobs is the player that every coach dreams of having,” Clinton Prairie coach Matthew Scott said. “He is a great student athlete who excels on and off the field. Kye has been the starting shortstop on our team for 4 straight years. He is one of the best all-around players to come through Clinton Prairie and has 4 years of varsity experience to back it up.”
Jacobs is the first All-Star from Clinton Prairie since Ryan Nance in 2000.

This season, the senior is hitting .573, leading the Gophers in hits, runs, home runs and walks.
He’s also been dominant on the mound, serving up a 2.57 ERA in 32 innings pitched.
Jacobs ranks in the top ten in Indiana in batting average, slugging percentage, runs, and on-base percentage, according to MaxPreps.
The Gophers sit at 20-6 on the season, and have been ranked in the top five in 1A all season, in large part to the play and leadership of Jacobs.
“We knew when Kye entered the program that he would help further our advance in the state tournament,” Scott said. “Little did we know it would be a semi-state appearance last year. Kye is the ultimate gamer. He isn’t flashy, but he makes some flashy plays, doesn’t talk about his game, doesn’t taunt or act foolish; instead, he just plays incredibly hard and does whatever is asked of him to be the best player on the field.”
Jacobs is committed to Rose-Hulman University, where he will play baseball and study mechanical engineering.
“As a school and a baseball staff, we couldn’t be more proud of Kye and his achievements this season,” Scott said. “He has a lot of support from the community, and we are incredibly proud to have Kye represent Clinton Prairie as an Indiana North All-Star.”
