Carroll County Launches Housing Rehabilitation Program for Income-Eligible Homeowners

The Carroll County Commissioners, in partnership with the Recorder’s Office and the Veterans’ Office, have announced plans to apply for OCRA grant funding to support a new Carroll County Housing Rehabilitation Program. This initiative is designed to assist income-eligible homeowners with essential home repairs needed to maintain safe and livable housing.

The program aims to prioritize assistance for key groups within the community, including:

  • Veterans

  • Disabled residents

  • Adults age 65+

  • Single heads of household

(Eligibility remains open to all qualifying residents who meet income requirements.)

Types of Eligible Repairs

Homeowners approved for the program may receive funding for a variety of necessary improvements, including:

  • Roof repair or replacement

  • HVAC system upgrades

  • Water heater replacement

  • Electrical upgrades

  • Exterior ADA accessibility enhancements

These repairs are intended to improve safety, increase efficiency, and support long-term housing stability for local residents.
