The Rossville Lady Hornets clinched the Hoosier Heartland Conference title Saturday evening with a 56-38 win over Clinton Central.
The Hornets finished 8-0 in conference play, winning their first conference championship since 2018 and their second of the last 25 years.
Rossville finished with four players in double figures in the win over the Bulldogs. Mallory O’Brien led with 15 points, Allie Elliott added 12 and Adalyn Farley and Addi Gorbbett each finished with 11.
O’Brien was named The Farmers Bank Player of the Game for her performance. In addition to 15 points, she also had four rebounds, four assists and four steals.
Jennifer Jacoby, in her third year as coach of Rossville, has the Hornets ranked in the top 10 in 1A and with their best record heading into the tournament in over 25 years. The Hornets improved to 20-1 with the win, and have now won 12 games in a row.
Rossville will rematch Clinton Central in the first round of Sectional 54 on Feb. 3.
Clinton Central fell to 15-5 with the loss, and closes out the season with conference games against Eastern and Sheridan before the rematch with the Hornets.
