On November 14, 2025, at approximately 12:15 PM, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office and Whitestown
Police Department were dispatched to a vehicle traffic accident involving a military grade Humvee, white
SUV, and a car hauler truck. The accident occurred approximately at the 129 mile-marker of Interstate 65
south.
Upon arrival, first responders located multiple vehicles in the roadway. Responders located a total of four
National Guardsmen that were injured, one which was unconscious. Responders pronounced the
Guardsmen that was unconscious deceased on the scene. The name of the Guardsmen are being withheld
until The Indiana National Guard notifies next of kin.
The drivers of the other vehicles involved were treated on scene. The three injured Guardsmen were
transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. The Boone County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team was
requested to investigate the accident. The cause of the accident is unknown at this time. The Boone
County Sheriff’s Office has been in constant contact with the Indiana National Guard throughout the
investigation and updates will be provided when available.
The Boone County Sheriff’s Office extends its deepest condolences to the injured Indiana National
Guardsmen and to the family of the deceased affected by this tragedy.
