Willis “Danny” Wessel, 68, of Frankfort, passed away November 2, 2025 in his home. He was born on January 31, 1957 in Bedford, Indiana to Willis and Mary (Fender) Wessel. He married Judy Cottrell on August 28, 1976 in Frankfort and she survives.
Danny grew up in Bedford and was a 1975 graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School. He moved to Frankfort in 1975 and had worked for Fontana Fasteners/Indiana Brass for 17 years, retiring in 2018. He was an avid Colts and IU basketball fan. He loved music, fast cars, and working on cars and enjoyed watching paranormal movies and television shows.
Surviving along with his wife, Judy, of nearly 50 years are his children: Willis D. Wessel Jr. of Colfax, IN, Lisa Lyle (David Kahn) of Portland, TN, and Heidi (Glenn) Andrew of Frankfort, IN, grandchildren: Nathaniel (Caytlyn) Asher of Frankfort, IN, Sean Lyle of Portland, TN, Gabby (Blake) Hurst of Frankfort, IN, Kali Wessel of Michigantown, IN, Jake (Ruth) Wessel of Kokomo, IN, Baylee Wessel of Michigantown, IN, Jackson Lyle of Portland, TN, and Taylor (Michael) McQueen of Lebanon, IN, 7 great-grandchildren, along with siblings: Bruce (Sherry) Wessel of Frankfort, IN, Rickey (Pam) Wessel of Bedford, IN, Dennis (Debbie) Wessel of Bedford, IN, Penny (Sam) Perry of Bedford, IN, Jackie (Heather) Wessel of Bedford, IN, and Kathy Becks of Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister: Lana Wessel.
Friends may visit 4-7 p.m. Friday, November 7, 2025 at Archer-Weston Funeral and Cremation Center, 501 E. Clinton St., Frankfort. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
