Linda Kay Hinesley, 87, of Rossville, passed away Friday, October 24, 2025, at Franciscan Health Lafayette East. She was born November 4, 1937, in Frankfort to Vonzil H. and Opal Irene (McCoy) Ottinger. She married Bobby Eugene Hinesley, and he preceded her in passing on November 6, 2021.
Linda was a graduate of Rossville High School, class of 1955. She worked for Purdue University in the Chemistry Department for many years. She was a member of the Rossville Home Ec Club and they were members of the Rossville Brethren Church. She was a master quilter and seamstress, enjoyed gardening, doing diamond dot crafts, reading, working in the garden on her strawberry patch, golfing and taking her pup Zoe on golf cart rides around town. She was known for her energetic and feisty personality. She enjoyed being social with her friends and family, especially going out to eat. She loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Linda is survived by her children, Teri (Matt) Tucciarelli, Vicki (Bill) Baker, Penny (Lee) Hogenson, and Brad (Dianna) Hinesley; brother-in-law, Don Hinesley; six grandchildren, Angela (Josh), Nick (Megan), Anthony (Marissa), Brent (Krystyna), Jami, Jordyn; and great grandchildren, Mia, Mackenzie, Campbell, Luca, Logan, Ethan, and Enzo.
Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Bill and Jerry; and brother-in-law, Joe Hinesley.
A celebration of Linda’s life will be held Saturday, November 22, 2025. Memorial visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., with a memorial service beginning at 4:00 p.m. at Day & Genda Funeral Home ~ Bodine Chapel in Rossville.
