Rossville Volleyball Regional Preview

The Rossville Hornets take on the Northfield Norsemen tomorrow in the Regional Championship at Elwood High School.

The Hornets were champions of Sectional 54, defeating Clinton Central, Clinton Prairie and Carroll to claim back-to-back sectional crowns.

Northfield swept Cowan, won in four against North Miami and gutted out a five-set win over Southern Wells to claim the Sectional 55 championship.

The Norsemen are 23-9 on the season and finished fifth in the Three Rivers Conference. Emily Miller paces the team with 387 kills, while Bella Myers has 377 digs and Brinlei Swihart has 701 assists.

Rossville enters at 29-3, champions of the Hoosier Heartland Conference. Blaire Wellman and Addi Gorbett each have over 260 kills on the season. Gorbett and Cassie Schoon are both closing in on 300 digs, and Tori Fadness sits at 678 assists heading into the matchup.

The teams have one common opponent this season, Lewis Cass. The Hornets defeated them 2-0, and the Norsemen won 3-1.

The match will begin at 4 p.m. tomorrow at Elwood High School as the Hornets look to advance to the Semi-State round.
