The Boone County Sheriff’s Office is celebrating one of its own this week as dispatcher Lincoln Lee was honored with the Telecommunicator of the Year Award at the Indiana NENA APCO Conference.
The prestigious award recognizes dispatchers who go above and beyond in their service—those who make a significant impact on public safety and the lives of the people they serve. Since joining the Boone County Sheriff’s Office in June 2023, Lee has done just that, earning the respect and appreciation of both first responders and the community.
In addition to his vital daily work answering emergency calls and coordinating responses, Lee also serves as a Communications Training Officer (CTO). In this role, he helps prepare and guide new telecommunicators as they begin their careers in public safety, shaping the next generation of dispatchers.
Known as the calm, steady voice on the other end of the line during emergencies, Lee’s professionalism and dedication embody the very spirit of the Telecommunicator of the Year Award.
The Boone County Sheriff’s Office expressed its pride in Lee’s accomplishment and his continued commitment to serving the community.
