The Farmers Bank proudly announces that a former President and Chief Executive Officer, Karen I. Miller, has been posthumously honored with the Leaders in Banking Excellence Award, the Indiana Bankers Association’s (IBA) highest individual distinction. The award was presented on Monday, September 8, 2025, during the IBA’s Annual Convention at the historic French Lick Springs Resort. Greg Miller posthumously accepts Leaders in Banking Excellence Award, the Association’s Highest Honor on wife’s behalf.
This prestigious award celebrates outstanding bankers who have left a lasting mark on the banking industry, community service, and civic life in Indiana. Karen Miller was not only a transformative leader at The Farmers Bank, but also the first female community bank CEO in the state of Indiana, paving the way for future generations of women in banking leadership.
Miller joined The Farmers Bank in 1995, serving as Chief Financial Officer, Senior Vice President, and Executive Vice President before being named President and CEO in 2006 and serving in the role until her passing in 2015. Under her leadership, The Farmers Bank experienced significant growth and strengthened its commitment to providing exceptional customer service and supporting the communities it serves.
Beyond her work at The Farmers Bank, Miller was deeply involved in statewide and local initiatives. She was a 30-year member of the Indiana CPA Society, a Regional Director with the Indiana Bankers Association, and served in leadership roles with the Clinton County Chamber of Commerce, Clinton County Partners in Progress, and the Clinton County Community Foundation.
