The Carroll Cougars scored early and often en route to a 45-6 victory over county rival Delphi on Friday.
It was a packed house in Flora for the Bacon Bowl.
“I’m so thankful for how much our community pours into this program,” Carroll coach Blake Betzner said. “It’s a really cool atmosphere.”
The Cougars took control early, leading 19-0 at the end of the first quarter.
Emery Deaton and Aiden Wiles both looked fantastic on the ground.
Deaton was named The Farmers Bank Player of the Game.
The Cougars continued to dominate for the rest of the half. A defensive touchdown, a safety and a long touchdown run from Deaton were the highlights of a 45-0 first half.
The Cougars went on to win 45-6, claiming their fifth straight Bacon Bowl title.
Carroll moves to 3-1 and remains undefeated in conference play. The Cougars will take on Eastern on Friday. Delphi falls to 1-3 and will take on Wes-Del next.
