William E. “Bill” Kozuch

 William Edward “Bill” Kozuch Jr, 81, of rural Colfax, passed away January 13, 2025 at his home.  He was born October 3, 1943 in Roseland, Illinois to William Edward Kozuch Sr. and Harriet Ellen (McDermott) Kozuch.  He married Barbara Loux in Sycamore, IL on October 6, 1967 and they divorced, she passed away in 2001.  He then married Phyllis Sargent on November 17, 1974 and she preceded him in death on October 22, 2021.

Bill attended Sycamore High School, Sycamore, IL, and received his GED while in the military.   He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines from 1962 to 1966, serving in Vietnam.  He lived in Sycamore, IL before moving to Colfax, IN.  Bill worked at Donaldsons for 13 years in maintenance, and retired from Federal Mogul after 18 years in 2012.  He attended the Colfax Wesleyan Church and was a member of the American Legion in Frankfort.  Bill enjoyed working on cars, mowing and working in his yard and was an avid Purdue sports fan.

Bill is survived by sons, Brian (Jami) Kozuch of rural Frankfort, Scott Kozuch of W. Lafayette, Chad (Stephanie) Kozuch of Frankfort, grandchildren, Alison Kozuch of Colfax, Bryn Kozuch of Frankfort, Kyler Kozuch of Frankfort, Ben (Amy) Ummel of Rossville, Matt (Christi) Ummel of Rossville, Sarah (Richie) Ummel of Frankfort and 9 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Sharon Luper and his wife, Phyllis Kozuch.

Visitation will be 10 a.m.-12 Noon, Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort.  Funeral service will follow at 12 Noon at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery, Colfax.  Memorial donations may be made to the American Legion, Frankfort.  Please visit goodwinfuneralhome.com, where you may leave a condolence.
