Carroll County Law Enforcement Spreads Christmas Cheer With 2024 Shop With A Cop Event

Members of the Delphi Police Department, Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, the City and more joined together as members of the White County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 123 for the 2024 Shop With A Cop event this weekend.

The event allows for community children to be paired with a law enforcement officer or first responder to shop for the holiday season and form a friendship. Sheriff Tony Liggett shared his sentiment regarding the event.

“One of the best days of the year, Shop with a Cop,” Liggett wrote. “We get matched up with children from Carroll County schools to make Christmas a little better for them. It always amazes me that while shopping, the kids I have each year are always thinking about and wanting to get things for other family members or friends.”

Liggett stated that donations received by the FOP ensure that coats, boots, clothing and toys are accessible for every child involved with the program.

Carroll County was represented by members of the Delphi Police Department, Flora Police Department, Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, Indiana DNR Division of Law Enforcement, Indiana State Police – Lafayette District, Carroll County Coroner’s Office, Carroll County EMS and Delphi Mayor Kamron Yates.

The annual event was made possible by Roosevelt Middle School, Abe’s Pizza, Arni’s Pizza in Monticello, Casey’s of Monticello, Pizza Hut in Monticello, Kroger of Monticello, Quilts for Kids, Walmart in Monticello, Kristian’s Photography and Santa himself amongst other sponsors.
