Two-Vehicle Collision Results In One Fatality Saturday Evening

A crash at U.S. 421 and County Road 150 South resulted in a fatality in Clinton County as an investigation is launched into the possible factor of alcohol leading to the accident.

On Saturday, Sept. 21 just after 9 p.m., Clinton County Sheriff’s Office deputies were reported dispatched to reports of a crash at the intersection of U.S. 421 and County Road 150 South.

Preliminary investigations reportedly showed that a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado truck was traveling eastbound on County Road 150 South, disregarding a stop sign. The Silverado reportedly struck a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling southbound on U.S. 421.

The driver of the Silverado was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver and passenger of the Grand Cherokee were transported to a hospital with minor injuries.

Names are currently being withheld pending notification of family, and an investigation has been launched into the presence of alcohol in the crash, police report.

The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Clinton County Central Dispatch, Clinton County Coroner’s Office, Clinton County EMS, Forest Volunteer Fire Department, Michigantown Volunteer Fire Department and Dave’s Wrecker Service according to authorities.
