Members of the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office received accolades for their participation in the Indiana Sheriff’s Association North Youth Leadership Camp where they served as counselors, where they strove to ensure the campers received the most important information and skills possible during the program.

Dective Mike Hobbs and Corrections Officer Jazlynn Plunk were honored last night for the week they spent as counselors at the Indiana Sheriff’s Association North Youth Leadership Camp. During the final night, Hobbs was awarded his sixth consecutive “Best Male Counselor” award while Plunk was honored with her first “Best Female Counselor” award.

“What’s impressive is these are picked by the campers, the kids,” Sheriff Tony Liggett said. “Both Hobbs and Jazlynn are great role models. I am very proud of them. We are lucky to have them in Carroll County.”

During the ceremony, a Flora youth was named as the “Best Male Camper” for his hard work during the camp, which reflects his dedication to the community every day in Flora.

“What made tonight even better was an incredible young man named Judah won best male camper,” Liggett said. “He works hard at his young age, mowing lawns and helping others. Just last week, Judah insisted on buying some of our local officers lunch. Great job, Judah. Congratulations, you have the ability and character to do great things.”

Judah, a Flora native, is selected as “Best Male Camper.”
