The Delphi Lady Oracles secured their Regional Champion title against the Rochester Zebras Tuesday night with an early surge that created a gap impossible for the Zebras to close.
The Lady Oracles rose to the challenge that the Zebras faced by holding them to zero runs throughout the entire game, only allowing two hits from the Zebras.
The Lady Oracles would also be held to zero runs for the first two innings before a surge created a rally where three runs crossed the plate in the third inning, leading to the only runs being scored for the entire game.
Both teams kept each other at zero runs for the final four innings, resulting in a final score of 3 to 0 in favor of the Lady Oracles with six hits and 0 errors.
With the Regional title secured, the Lady Oracles will face off against the victories of North Newton and Hebron, who face off tonight, May 30, in their own Regional match. The winners will try to best the Lady Oracles on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Warsaw in the Semi-State Semi-Finals.
The victor of the face off will compete against the victor of the Lapel and South Adams matchup for the Semi-State Champion title at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
The Semi-State Champion will face the Semi-State Champion from the Forest Park series, which has been narrowed down to Cascade, North Posey, Brownstown Central and Eastern Hancock at Bittinger Stadium at Purdue University.
