The Frankfort Community Public Library and the Michigantown, Mulberry and Rossville branches will launch the Summer Reading Program beginning June 3 to encourage the community’s youth to partake in an adventure with the library.
the “Adventure Begins at Your Library” Summer Reading Program will kick off Monday, June 3 and extend through July 26 with opportunities for participants to engage with literacy and reading in a new fashion throughout the county as they embark on numerous adventures.
Every year, the Summer Reading Program is designed to promote literacy for community members of all ages as they take part in weekly prize events and collect tickets by completing reading logs to be entered into the prize drawings throughout the summer all while being introduced to new reading materials and embarking on new journeys and activities with library staff.
The program will host a variety of experiences catered to entertain every participant, including receiving Dungeons & Dragons starter kids, opportunities to host a movie or game night and the opportunity to win the grand prize family camping bundle with gift cards from Schulz and Bachelor Runn Campground.
The registration is open for June events, and registration will open on June 1 for July events with no library card required to join the adventures. Interested participants may visit the Frankfort Community Public Library at myfcpl.org to register for activities and learn more about the programs offered at the locations, which include Storytime in the Garden, Oh Dang! Bigfoot Stole My Car, Animal Adventures, Bubble Adventures and more.
Community members will also have the opportunity to purchase summer reading t-shirts designed by Moxie Mavens. The t-shirts may be purchased at Moxie Mavens at 54 N. Main St. in Frankfort with a portion of the proceeds being donated back to the library to support the summer reading programming.
