A large fire was reported east of Mulberry near 700 West early this morning that resulted in the closure of State Road 38 for three fire department crews to access the fire efficiently.
Reports of a large fire east of Mulberry appeared early Tuesday morning as community members began reporting the incident. The fire was later revealed to be a barn fire that caused a total loss of the structure. The owner of the property, Brad Clouser, released a statement regarding the firefighters and the need for help from the community to relocate animals that would typically be placed within the barn.
“We are thankful for the firefighters as they kept it away from other structures,” Clouser wrote. “We have found a farm for the animals to stay, but we need a hauler to get them there.”
Clouser released an update around 8 a.m. that the family was seeking help in relocating a cow, horse and goat. Clouser stated that a location was found for the cow and horse but were still searching for a location for the baby goat, a small goat with an ability to escape easily. The goat was noted as needing a pasture where no males were present as she is four months old.
Clouser stated that the family was in need of someone to haul the animals a few miles to their new spots. As of 9 a.m., the family had successfully relocated the animals.
According to Angela Clouser, all humans were unharmed in the fire. The family has not released a statement regarding needs as of 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26.
