Delphi Community School Corporation Kicks Off Spirit Week Next Week

The Delphi Community School Corporation Music Department is launching its spirit week next week for Music in Our Schools Month.

Spirit week will kick off on Monday, March 18 with band t-shirts where students are encouraged to showcase their favorite band or musical artist by wearing a t-shirt depicting them. Some students were asked for their favorite songs, and the songs chosen will be played during passing periods throughout the day.

Tuesday, March 19 tasks students with wearing a tie to showcase how “music ties us together.”

Wednesday, March 20 will take on the theme of “A Day at the Opera” where students are encouraged to wear their finest clothes to celebrate the music that hailed from the opera. The music department stressed that school dress code will still apply.

On Thursday, March 21, the school will host its very own “color wars” amongst the different grades where students are encouraged to sport the color chosen for their grade, and the colors were inspired by different bands.

Sixth graders are encouraged to wear white, inspired by White Lion. Seventh graders are encouraged to wear purple, inspired by Deep Purple. Eighth graders are encouraged to wear black, inspired by Black Eyed Peas. Freshmen are encouraged to wear pink, inspired by Pink Floyd. Sophomores are encouraged to wear blue, inspired by The Blues Brothers. Juniors are encouraged to wear red, inspired by Red Hot Chili Peppers. Seniors are encouraged to wear green, inspired by Green Day.
