The students in Jazz Ensemble, Stringin’ Eagles and EagleTones performed at the contest with the EagleTones receiving a Group III Gold and Reese Walters receiving an award for Outstanding Soloist. Jazz Ensemble and Stringin’ Eagles performed in the highest level of difficulty, Group 1 music, and both received Golds with Distinction.

Six members of the Jazz Ensemble were awarded with the Outstanding Soloist recognitions, including Eli Baker, Tommy Schlueter, Ryan Langenburg, Ethan Weirich, Chloe Brown and Simon Gray.

After the performance, the Jazz Ensemble students traveled to Ball State University to continue their competitive streak in the university’s Dimensions in Jazz Festival. The Jazz Ensemble faced off against multiple Indiana schools and was awarded first place. Chloe Brown once again shined as she received a Special Recognition Award for her horn solo during the performance.

Zionsville Community Schools released a special recognition for drummer Josie Dollens, who played the drum set with the Stringin’ Eagles and Jazz Ensemble for a record-setting three performances in one day.
