Carroll High School senior girls’ basketball player Alli Harness scored her 2,000th point in her high school career Thursday night as she led the Cougars to a 62-25 victory over Clinton Prairie at Flora.
Carroll can get close to winning the Hoosier Heartland Conference this week as it plays at Eastern Tuesday night and at Tri-Central Friday night. Carroll then wraps up the regular season with a game at Caston on January 23 before hosting Lafayette Jefferson on Thursday night.
Harness has chosen Western Michigan as her college choice.
Lady Bulldogs Defeat Faith Christian
Carly Davison scored 20 points and dished out 11 assists to lead Clinton Central to a 67-32 over Faith Christian Saturday in Lafayette. Sara Parkison added 17 points, now 19-1 on the year.
Thursday night at Taylor, Kortney Surber scored a career-high 18 points to lead Central to a 79-38 victory over Taylor. Davison and Parkison each scored 15 points, while Davison handed out 17 assists.
Rossville Girls Top Frankfort
Ava Burkle scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Rossville to a 48-38 victory over Frankfort last Tuesday night.
Cortney Huffman added 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Lady Hornets.
Saira Flores led FHS with 13 points and had a team-high seven rebounds. Vannessa Guardado scored nine and Ella McAtee added eight points. McAtee, along with Daizy Santos Valdez, led the team in assists with four apiece.
FHS Wrestlers Fall to Western
Western took advantage of its experience in a 58-21 victory over Frankfort. Western had 30 points on forfeits.
Getting wins for FHS were Jocelyn Cruz, Brandon Delgado, Naaman Martinez and Chris Ranson.
