Clinton County Commissioners President Says He’s Looking Forward to 2024

At their initial meeting of 2024, the Clinton County Commissioners voted to rehire Jordan Brewer as the president for the department Tuesday morning.

After naming Bert Weaver as the new vice president replacing Josh Uitts, who held that role in 2023. Brewer’s first rule of business was to say how good things are going.

“I think ’24 is going to be an exciting year for Clinton County,” said Brewer. “We have a lot of things moving forward. A lot of things around us are happening. So, if there’s ever a time we need to kind of buckle down with leadership and work together, this is it. We need to figure out the future.”

Brewer added they are set up to do a lot of good things in the county and just continue with what they have been doing over the past few years.

Brewer also gave an update on the new annex building being built in downtown.

Back in November, Brewer said contractors were working through on how to stabilize the foundation. Having to be careful of the neighboring Arni’s building, contractors have to find a way to either fix the shoring problem on a temporary or permanent basis.

On Tuesday, Brewer said contractors are trying to find a way around that.

“There has been progress, but we’re a month behind,” said Brewer, adding that completion will probably be done in November or possibly later if the weather turns bad.
