Airplane Crash Under Investigation

At approximately 1:37 p.m. Sunday, the Howard County 911 Dispatch Center received a report of an airplane crash involving a golf cart at the Glenndale Airport located at 3460 S. 400 W. Deputies from the Howard County Sheriff’s Office in addition to members of the Russiaville Police Department, Community Howard Regional Hospital and
Harrison Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to the scene.

Preliminary investigation indicates that an experimental aircraft being flown by Raymond T. Hodgson of Kokomo, was coming in to land while a female onlooker was filming from a golf cart next to the runway. As the plane came down for a landing, the plane drifted and struck the golf cart causing it to roll over, knocking the sole occupant unconscious. The female was transported to an area hospital via helicopter (Samaritan) for her injuries and the pilot is seemingly uninjured.

The scene has been secured by members of the Howard County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) until Investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) arrive to conduct their investigation.
