United Way Hosts First Annual Wacky Quacky Duck Derby At Prairie Creek Park

The goal was to adopt out 1,500 ducks by August 28, 2023 and have a chance to win $500 cash from our local Farmers Bank. 551 ducks were sold.

One way to adopt a duck was via United Way of Clinton County Facebook page, Each duck had a number and a name. The person adopting the duck then scanned the QR CODE or text QUACK to a number and an email was sent with the name of adopted duck.

Your support helps United Way for Clinton County provide grant funding to agencies that provide food, clothing, utilities, rent payments through Food Finders, and Salvation Army.

Additionally United Way offers Education and Financial Stability by supporting Home for the Night, Boys and Girls Club Teens, Peer Recovery Community, Healthy Communities, We Care and One80 Recovery Center.

United Way supports Health issues such as the Diabetic Program at Open Door Clinic and Healthy Programs for Seniors at Paul Phillippe Resource Center.

Providing sources at a young age is pivotal to our Coach Kids program, Dolly Pardon Imagination, Literacy Program, Camp Collum, CORE Early Learning, Local Girl Scouts and Quinton’s House.

Providing Learning Network with resources to help support individuals with their Citizenship Testing.

United Way provides over 36,000 meals during the summer to children, so they don’t go hungry.

Provide STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) learning tools and toys to Pre-K classes in the community to enhance their learning and to be prepared for kindergarten.

With partnerships in the community, we provided 650 back packs to our children prior to school starting.

United Way Also,is able to provide disaster recovery through supporting our local American Red Cross.

551 ducks were sold With the help of Frankfort Fire Department to add water to the creek at Prairie Creek Park and to help the ducks reach the finish line, The race was on.

1st place duck was Lana. #38

2nd place duck was Diego. #6

3rd place duck was daisy. # 48

In the pacesetter races Rossville School won the first race, Covestro won the second race, and Wesley Manor won the 3rd race.
